Special Education Teacher /12:1:4

Hello! I have been with P53K for 4 years as a classroom teacher in both a 6:1:1 setting and 12:1:4. I received my undergraduate degree from Floria Atlantic University and my master's degree from Touro college. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, exercising and traveling the world!

I have been working for P53K for over twenty years. I have a Masters degree from Teachers College in Speech-Language Pathology and a Bachelors from Brooklyn College. I love working with the High School students at Spring Creek.

Hi! My name is Amy and I have been with P53K since 2012. I have taught a 6:1:1. 12:1:1 and Inclusion. I am currently supporting teachers with the IEP process. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two girls. We enjoy traveling to different baseball stadiums. We have been to 19 so far!

Hello! My name is Rachel and I have been working with P53K for over a decade! Born and raised in Florida, I am a proud graduate of the University of Florida, but also love to call Brooklyn my chosen home. I am an alum of the NYC Teaching Fellows Program and have taught 6:1:1, 8:1:1 and 12:1:1 classes at P53K, as well as supported teachers as an instructional coach. I have degrees in design, education and school leadership. My passions are the P53K High School Theater program and spending time with family, friends, and my massive dog!

Hi! My name is Erin and I have been with P53K for 6 years. I am originally from New Jersey where I attended Rowan University before moving to the city to attend Pace University through the NYC Teaching Fellows Program. I currently teach a 12:1:1 class and have the pleasure to be a part of student government, the school community garden and our new PAES program. In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends, family, and my cat Toby.

Hi!! My name is Laura and I have been with P53k over 10 years. I am proud United States Marine wife and have a wonderful family. I have a Master’s in Education and am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. I love working at Spring Creek High School.

Hello! My name is Lizzy and I’ve been with P53K since 2016. I’m a born and raised New Yorker and a proud product of the NYC public school system. I attended Clark University where I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology and later earned my Master’s in Teaching from Pace University. It is such a privilege to work with the incredible students of P53K both in the classroom and in the High School Theater Program. Outside of work, I love reading, hanging out with my cats Leonard and Greta, and spending lots of time in the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens.

Hi! My name is Camryn and I am originally from Wisconsin. I received my Bachelor's in Special Education from UW-Eau Claire. I moved to Brooklyn in 2017 and have been working at P53K ever since! I have also received my Master’s in Special Education from Brooklyn College. I love working at Spring Creek and am proud to be involved in our High School Theater Program. In my free time you can find me running, spending time with my friends and family, and spoiling my senior cat.

Hii!! My name is Cindy and I have been with P53K since 2017. I joined P53k as a NYC Teaching Fellow. I was born and raised in Brooklyn. I have attended both Pace University and Mercy College receiving my master's degree in Counseling and Education. I am also a certified School Counselor. I taught in a 12:1:4 and 6:1:1 class here at P53k. I have a fun time each day working with my students, especially when running our drink cart. I have two kids and Toby the cat.

Adapted Physical Education Teacher

Hey! My name is Kristan and I’ve been with P.53K since 2010, beginning at our site on Livonia Avenue and am now the physical education teacher at Spring Creek. I graduated from Queens College with a degree in Physical Education and went on to receive a Master’s degree in Health Education. Sports are my passion, and I love being able to share that with my students both in my classes and when we go on our many trips such as Special Olympics and skiing! When I’m not at school, you can usually find me riding my motorcycle, playing with my dog Crash or watching my favorite sports teams, the Yankees and the Giants!

Hello my name is Mokhina and it is my first year at P53K! I love to bake and spend time with my family. I am currently earning my master's degree through the New York City Teaching Collaborative Program with Brooklyn College.

Special Education Teacher 8:1:1

Hello! My name is Ana Acosta. I have been working at P53K since 1998. I came from the Dominican Republic in 1985 with a lot of dreams and an interest in education. I attended City College and finished my bachelor’s degree in bilingual education in 1996. Soon thereafter, I began graduate school at the College of Saint Rose and earned my master's degree in Special Education at Touro College. I am also certified in Early Intervention. I have worked with many agencies providing bilingual instruction to children from birth – 3-years-old.
